The Buildings Are Alive With Signs

We took a moment to snap some pictures of the more interesting advertisements and shop signs around San Francisco (this only touches the tip of the iceberg!). Pictured above are both new and old signs. It turns out that the older signs are referred to as 'ghost signs', that is an advertisement where the company has moved from the building or no longer exists. Some of these date back to the late 1800's and can be found in cities around the world. How cool is that? Kasey Smith took the time to curate all the ghost signs in San Francisco that you can find here. My suggestion: take a day and find these signs!
