In about 4 hours, we will be getting on the plane to Paris, where I'll be running my very first full marathon on Sunday! Very excited, and ok, I'll admit, scared to death. I've never been a very hardcore sort of runner, but when you're married to a triathlete, it's hard not to be inspired, plus I could never resist a good challenge. So when Phillip suggested Paris, I thought, why the heck not? (Think of all the carb-loading options!)
My friends asked if I would be raising funds for the run. Not really... this race didn't start out as a fundraising project; it's just something to check off my bucket list. I run because I can. And I run for those who can't. But for those who'd like to support a good cause (and me!), you can make a donation to MD Anderson. These guys saved my dad's life. For that, I will be forever indebted to them.
On a lighter note, I can't wait to be back in the City of Lights, this time with my family! It will be a tremendous trip... au revoir!
