In about 4 hours, we will be getting on the plane to Paris
, where I'll be running my very first full marathon
on Sunday! Very excited, and ok, I'll admit, scared to death. I've never been a very hardcore sort of runner, but when you're married to a triathlete, it's hard not to be inspired, plus I could never resist a good challenge. So when Phillip suggested Paris, I thought, why the heck not? (Think of all the carb-loading options!)
My friends asked if I would be raising funds for the run. Not really... this race didn't start out as a fundraising project; it's just something to check off my bucket list. I run because I can. And I run for those who can't. But for those who'd like to support a good cause (and me!), you can make a donation to MD Anderson.
These guys saved my dad's life. For that, I will be forever indebted to them.
On a lighter note, I can't wait to be back in the City of Lights, this time with my family! It will be a tremendous trip... au revoir!
