Ive had my bag for a long time & I love the pattern, shape, size & overall look of it. Was very, very disappointed when the strap started to peel. Then the connectors on the bag itself peeled too (The pieces of leather on either side of the zipper where the rings are attached to the bag. You connect the strap clips to these pieces). While this shouldn't happen at all, I guess it's nice that you can replace the strap. But obviously you cannot replace the connectors. It looks terrible! The underlying color is white, so it's very obvious. I even peeled off everything thinking at least it would be uniform & not so noticeable. Maybe, but it still looks very bad. There has to be better technology out there by now to avoid this issue. A shame Maika isn't using it. (Side note - I wish they made the straps in black too!)

I bought a replacement strap when the original one peeled. The "vegan leather" (aka vinyl) is just not comfortable like real leather would be, and it feels sticky.
After avoiding real leather for years, I have come back to it as a more sustainable choice than artificial leather - more durable and less plastic. Wool, cotton, linen and hemp are other good choices if avoiding animal products.
I give this artificial leather replacement strap 2 stars for good hardware and customer service.

I'm so happy that I could get a new Strap for my cute bag. Now my white with gold hearts bag is back in the rotation.

So disappointed when the replacement strap arrived and it's a double strap instead of a single like my purse came with (that peeled since it rains and had to replace). Now because it's double strapped it hangs really high. Not happy at all.

The strap on one of my two Maika bags finally gave out — long before the bag showed any wear. So happy to be able to replace just the strap on this quality product. I’ve grown attached!
