Summer is often lauded as the time to get away and book your vacations, but the season afterward might just be the year's best-kept secret when it comes to travel. Not only are flights cheaper after the Summer, but temperatures are cooler, tourists are less populated, and you'll get to see some of the most gorgeous colors of the year.

You could go just about anywhere this Fall, but these next ten destinations are some of the top rated in the country by places like Forbes and US News

Where will you jet off to next?

1. Big Sur, California

Drive along the Big Sur and get your Fall foliage and ocean views in one trip. The coastal highway runs from Carmel to San Simeon - 90 miles of beauty with plenty to do and see along the way.

2. Charleston, South Carolina

With lower humidity and cooler temperatures in the Fall, you can visit historic Charleston comfortably, strolling the cobblestone streets and taking in the historic sights.

3. Sedona, California

Comfortable temperatures and crazy Fall colors burst throughout the Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona. Camp out of book an AirBnB for the Fall trip of your dreams.

4. Estes Park, Colorado

A hidden gem tucked away in the Colorado Rockies, Estes Park is a must-see for wildlife, Fall colors, and relaxation.

5. Las Vegas, Nevada

Although you may not see much in the way of Fall foliage, tickets to Vegas are much cheaper after the buzz of the summer dies down, and you won't have to fight the heat to have fun.

6. Asheville, North Carolina

Enjoy the Fall leaves with the gorgeous hiking trails, driving courses, and outdoor activities. Asheville is most renowned for the Baltimore Estates, an elegant, privately owned estate built by the Vanderbilt family in the Gilded Age.

7. Boston, Massachusetts

Boston comes (even more) alive in the Fall with changing colors, the Boston Arts Festival and so much more.

9. San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio will be a bit cooler in the Fall, so you can enjoy all of the classic things to do, like Sea World, the Museum of Modern Art, Six Flags, or any of the city's incredible restaurants.

9. Santa Fe, New Mexico

Take the chairlift up the Ski Santa Fe resort to admire the aspens on the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, drive an hour south to enjoy the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, enjoy cooler temperatures, and plenty to do outdoors as the weather cools in the desert.

Where are you off to this Fall?
